Hello everyone, Kia Ora and Talofa lava
I am so lucky to be six years on from finishing breast cancer treatment and relatively healthy.
It has all been such a journey and I feel grateful for the platforms to be able to share messages to the other men and women who followed me affected by cancer.
When diagnosed with cancer the first time, I really wanted lots of information that was relevant to me. When diagnosed the second time, I realised that I had all that information inside me, to share, and I have done my best to do that. Every scrap of wisdom I could share about cancer and healing cancer is packed into my book Chemo and Back Again. I hope you get to read it and know, that my love and best wishes are fuelled in every page.
I also had the ability to do the second cancer with hindsight “how would I do cancer if I had to do it again?” and live life quite differently during cancer treatment.
Now six years on, I am back in the workplace in a different, interesting and enjoyable way. I am managing to work full time with breaks. And managing to add value and creative positive results in the workplace. It is really amazing and so incredible for me as I know how lucky l I am to be one step on from cancer.
I have learned a lot about balance and I can’t do it all. So the time has come to move on from my websites and move on to my next project – life. I have also learned that to stay in a positive bubble, I can’t surround myself with all things cancer. I have to move on to keep myself in the best possible health.
I am back to focusing on the extraordinary ordinary things of life – renovation, career, relationships, planning for retirement, sustaining mental and physical health, travelling and hobbies – while integrating what went before.
I am also focusing on creating a new website where I will start to write about the challenges and joys of a normal life with a different view. I will post the new website address soon and hope you can join me.
Kia kaha (stay strong)
Aroha mai (with my love)
